The Girabola 1999 was the 21st season of Girabola , the top division of football in Angola . 16 teams took part, each of which competed against each other twice. The season started on April 18 and ended on November 21, 1999.

As in the previous year, Primeiro de Agosto from the capital Luanda won the championship title in 1999. The Angolan Cup won the GD Sagrada Esperança with a 2: 1 against Atlético Sport Aviação . Sagrada Esperança then had to admit defeat to champions Primeiro de Agosto 3-0 after a 0-0 first leg in the Angolan Supercup .

Promoted Ferroviário da Huíla did not take part in the league and rose pointless and goalless at the end. Why he did not take part and no game evaluation was made is not noted. With Progresso do Sambizanga and Independente do Tômbua , the two other relegated teams were determined at the end of the season.

The 1999 Girabola was the last season with 16 teams. For the 2000 season , the league was again reduced to 14 teams. At the end of the 1999 season, the three aforementioned clubs were relegated, while Sporting do Bié only promoted one club from the second division.
