Goldenseeufer, Heidberg and the surrounding area is a nature reserve in the Schleswig-Holstein community of Kittlitz in the Duchy of Lauenburg .

The approximately 136  hectare nature reserve is registered under number 162 in the directory of nature reserves of the Ministry for Energy Transition, Agriculture, Environment and Rural Areas. It was designated in 2009 (date of regulation: September 18, 2009) and replaces the previous nature reserve “Goldenseeufer und Umgebung”. The nature reserve is part of the EU bird sanctuary “Schaalsee area” and almost entirely part of the FFH area “Schaalsee with adjacent forests and lakes”. To the northeast it borders on the nature reserve " Goldensee " in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania , in the south on the nature reserve " Schaalsee with Niendorfer Binnensee, Priestersee and Großzecher Küchensee, Phulsee, Seedorfer Küchensee and surroundings". The " Culpiner See " nature reserve is located a little to the northwest . The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the Duchy of Lauenburg district.

The nature reserve is located east of Ratzeburg on the state border with Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. It is part of the Green Belt along the former inner-German border . The nature reserve primarily comprises bank areas on the west bank of the Goldensee as well as grassland and forest areas to the west of the lake , the 6.9 hectare carp pond with adjacent forest areas and the almost 62 meter high Heidberg mountain with forest. In places, agricultural areas are included in the nature reserve.

In the lowland areas in the south of the Goldensee and around the Karpfensee, mostly near-natural quarry forests grow , while the wooded areas on the Heidberg are formed by beech forests in the form of Hainsimsen-Buchenwald and Waldmeister-Buchenwald. In the north of the nature reserve there is predominantly moist grassland. Pondweed and floating leaf communities settle in the carp pond.

The nature reserve is the habitat and feeding habitat of crane , white stork , marsh harrier , honey buzzard , black woodpecker , middle woodpecker , red-backed killer , lapwing , reed warbler and kingfisher . It is also the habitat of the otter . In connection with the neighboring nature reserves, the area is of particular importance for resting and wintering birds.

The nature reserve is crossed by the county road 66 or borders on it. In the south, the nature reserve borders the county road 1, in the northwest on a farm road and agricultural areas.
