Ritzerauer Hofsee and Duvenseebachniederung is a nature reserve in the Schleswig-Holstein communities of Nusse , Ritzerau and Duvensee in the Duchy of Lauenburg .

The approximately 132  hectare nature reserve is registered under number 191 in the directory of nature reserves of the Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Areas. It was reported as of July 30, 2004 (date of regulation: June 30, 2004). A 81 hectare part of the nature reserve is part of the EU bird sanctuary "Forest areas in Lauenburg". The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the Duchy of Lauenburg district.

The nature reserve is located northwest of Mölln in a terminal moraine area . It protects the Duvenseebach lowland with its valley slopes and the Ritzerauer Hofsee in an ice age channel system between the state road 199 near Duvensee and the locality of Nusse. The Duvenseebach lowland presents itself mainly as an open landscape with grassland , which was previously partially occupied by the Duvensee. After this was drained in the early 1970s, the Duvenseebach cut deeper into the terrain. A drainage channel was dredged through the Ritzerauer Hofsee, which silted up and is now considerably smaller than it used to be. The silting zones are often occupied by reed beds and woody growth. The slope areas in the north of the nature reserve are partially forested.

Parts of the areas of the Duvenseebach valley belong to the Schleswig-Holstein Nature Conservation Foundation and Fielmann AG . They will continue to be farmed extensively in order to maintain the open lowland. The nature reserve is a habitat and a retreat u. a. for marsh marigold , Galium palustre , melica uniflora , shade flowers , Nightingale , pond and marsh warbler , red-backed shrike , middle spotted woodpecker and Crane .

The nature reserve is managed by Natur Plus e. V. Panten looks after.
