The former excavation pit eastern Basedow is a nature reserve in the Schleswig-Holstein communities of Lanze and Dalldorf in the Duchy of Lauenburg .

The 57 hectare nature reserve is registered under number 151 in the directory of nature reserves of the Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Areas. It was expelled in 1991 (date of regulation: December 16, 1991). In the east it borders on the “ Stecknitz-Delvenau-Niederung ” nature reserve . The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the Duchy of Lauenburg district.

The reserve is located east of Basedow . It is bounded in the west by the Lübeck – Lüneburg railway line and in the north by the Elbe-Lübeck Canal .

The nature reserve places an abandoned soil extraction area and the adjacent areas under protection. The ground mining area consists of several ponds and secondary locations, Unprocessed areas and steep walls . The areas are mainly occupied by bushes and pioneer and weed meadows. The adjacent areas, agricultural areas as well as forest areas and a remnant of heather forest were drawn into the nature reserve as a buffer and development zone.

The area is looked after by the Büchen group of the Naturschutzbund Deutschland . It is accessible by two streets.
