Gries is a part of the municipality of Mistelgau in the Bayreuth district in Upper Franconia ( Bavaria ).

geography

The wasteland lies in a basin of a nameless tributary of the Erlichbach. The wooded Rappersberg hill ( 534  m above sea level ) rises 0.5 km to the northwest, and 0.6 km south-west of the Knock ( 548  m above sea level ), which is designated as a nature reserve . A residential road leads to the BT 1 district road near Braunersberg (0.6 km southeast).

history

The farm was originally owned by the von Aufseß gentlemen . The place was first mentioned in a document in 1676 when the Aufseß gave it to the Margrave of Brandenburg-Kulmbach as a fief.

From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice and Chamber Office of Bayreuth . When the house numbers were assigned, Gries was given number 4 for the town of Braunersberg . With the community edict (early 19th century), Gries was assigned to the Truppach tax district and the Obernsees rural community . On May 1, 1978, Gries was incorporated into the municipality of Mistelgau as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
