The Hadleigh Farm was a venue for the 2012 Olympics and is in Hadleigh in the county of Essex , about 50 km northeast of London . It is located within the approximately 220  hectare Hadleigh Country Park, a local recreation and nature reserve.

The mountain bike competitions were held here at the Olympic Games . Temporary grandstands were created for around 3000 spectators. Spectators could also follow the competitions around the track without buying a ticket. The course has been built since July 2010 and completed in March 2011. It has not yet been finally decided whether it will be retained after the competition has ended. The course runs around the ruins of Hadleigh Castle.

The Weald Country Park , originally planned as a venue for mountain biking , was replaced by Hadleigh Farm at the urging of the UCI, the world cycling association , as the terrain here is technically more demanding and selective.
