The Lee Valley VeloPark is a cycling center on Marshgate Lane in Stratford , Newham , Greater London in the Olympic Park and hosted the 2012 Olympic Games and the 2012 Paralympics . The park was planned by Hopkins Architects Partnership LLP (Sir Michael Hopkins and Lady Patricia Hopkins) and Grant Associates (landscape architects).

The Velopark includes the Lee Valley Velodrome and an outdoor BMX facility. Construction on the Velodrome began in 2009 and was completed in February 2011. It can accommodate 6,000 spectators. The BMX facility was built from spring to summer 2011 and is around 400 m long. 6000 temporary seats were created for this BMX facility, which were dismantled after the Olympic Games. After completing the Olympic and Paralympic competitions, the Velopark was expanded, and a cross-country course for mountain bikes and a 1.6 km long road cycling course were added. The facility was opened for public use and as a training center for sports clubs in early April 2014.

Track cycling and BMX competitions were held in the Velopark during the Olympic Games, and track cycling competitions at the Paralympics.
