Box Hill is a mountain in the North Downs in Surrey ( England ).

The mountain is located 30 km southwest of London . It is the location of the Box Hill School .

The English garden architect John Evelyn notes in his diary that guests from Epsom Spa liked to go on trips to Box Hill.

The "Picnic in Box Hill" is one of the key scenes in Jane Austen's novel Emma .

Special

At the 2012 Olympic Games , the road race of cyclists led over the mountain. The men ran it over nine times, the women twice. According to a survey by Strava among cyclists, Box Hill is the world's most popular climb for them; they nicknamed him Zig Zag .
