On July 1, 2007, the defender signed a three-year contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs , but they transferred him to the Pittsburgh on February 26, 2008 in exchange for a second-round draft pick in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft and a five-round draft pick in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft Penguins . On February 17, 2012, the Habs transferred him to the Nashville Predators, along with a five-round performance-related vote in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft in exchange for strikers Blake Geoffrion and Robert Slaney, and a second-round vote in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft . He played his first game for the Predators on February 19, 2012 against the Dallas Stars , in which the defender was on the ice for 16 minutes and the Predators won 3-2.
