Hermann von Radecke
Hermann Rudolf Agathon von Radecke (born October 18, 1827 in Insterburg , † February 6, 1910 in Potsdam ) was a Prussian lieutenant general and commander of the 4th division .
Life
origin
Hermann von Radecke was a son of the Prussian major and gentleman on Gergehmen , ehmen , Redden and Louisenberg Wilhelm von Radecke (1790-1853) and his wife Karoline, née Brämer (1804-1893).
Military career
After attending grammar school in Königsberg and the cadet houses in Kulm and Berlin , Radecke was transferred to the 1st Dragoons Regiment of the Prussian Army on July 4, 1844 as porter ensign. He received mid-August 1847 the character as a second lieutenant , and on August 22, 1848, effective August 10, 1847 the patent for his rank. On March 12, 1859 he was commanded as adjutant of the 9th Cavalry Brigade to Glogau . In this capacity Radecke rose to the rank of Rittmeister until the end of May 1860 and was transferred to the Leib-Garde-Hussar Regiment on October 1, 1860 after being relieved of his command . With his appointment as squadron chief , he returned to his regular regiment on February 21, 1863 with a patent from July 10, 1859. On January 16, 1864, Radecke became the personal adjutant of Prince Albrecht of Prussia , whom he accompanied in the 1864 war against Denmark in the battles near Oberselk , Nübel and Fredericia during the storming of the Düppeler Schanzen and the transition to Alsen . For his work he received the Red Eagle Order IV class with swords on April 22, 1864 and was placed in his position as adjutant of the Prince à la suite of the Litthau Dragoon Regiment No. 1 (Prince Albrecht of Prussia) at the end of May 1864 .
Radecke was hired as Prince Albrecht's personal adjutant on April 28, 1866 with a patent from March 31, 1857 à la suite of the Westphalian Dragoon Regiment No. 7 . During the war against Austria in 1866 he took part in the battles at Münchengrätz and Königgrätz at its side . On September 20, 1866 he received the Crown Order IV. Class with Swords and rose to major at the same time. Radecke was released from his command with Prince Albrecht on July 14, 1870 and, under position à la suite, was entrusted with the command of the 1st Pomeranian Uhlan Regiment No. 4 . In the same capacity, Radecke led the 25th Cavalry Brigade (Grand Ducal Hessian) in Darmstadt from June 22, 1877 and rose to major general in mid-April 1878 . With the promotion to lieutenant general on October 17, 1883, he took over the 4th division stationed in Bromberg and received the star for the Order of the Red Eagle, 2nd class with oak leaves and swords on the ring, on the occasion of the festival in January 1885. Radecke took on 27 October 1885 his farewell to board and was on 24 March 1887 board for disposition made. On January 18, 1896, Kaiser Wilhelm II paid tribute to him by awarding him the Order of the Crown, 1st Class with Swords. He died on February 6, 1910 in Potsdam.

Radecke married on May 15, 1853 in Gielgudyski Klara von Sanden (1829-1860), a daughter of District Administrator Heinrich von Sanden . After her untimely death he married Emmy von Keudell (1840–1866) on December 1, 1862 in Berlin . When she too died early, Radecke married Anna von Lautz (1844–1913) on May 20, 1869 in Ohlau.
