Hermann Eugen Max von Rauchhaupt (born July 13, 1838 in Berlin , † July 11, 1891 in Munich ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

Hermann was a son of the Prussian Colonel Ludwig von Rauchhaupt (1796–1854) and his wife Albertine, born von Alvensleben (1802–1895). His older brother Hugo (1824-1896) was also a Prussian officer and rose to become lieutenant general .

Military career

Rauchhaupt attended high school and the cadet house in Berlin.
