The 1956/57 season was the twelfth regular season of the International Hockey League . During the regular season, the six teams played 60 games each. In the play-offs, the Cincinnati Mohawks prevailed and won the fifth Turner Cup in their club's history.
Team changes
The following changes were made before the start of the season:
- The Grand Rapids Rockets were relocated to Huntington , West Virginia and henceforth played under the name Huntington Hornets .
- The Toledo-Marion Mercurys changed their name to Toledo Mercurys.
