The Douctouyre River in the Rapy district

Ilhat is a French commune with 111 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Ariège department in the Occitanie region . It belongs to the Pamiers arrondissement , the Pays d'Olmes canton and the Pays d'Olmes municipality .

geography

The community is 16 kilometers east of Foix and about 50 kilometers north of the Pyrenees ridge . The Douctouyre flows through the municipality, which consists of the villages of Ilhat, Cazal, Rapy and Bac , and here on its way north it breaks through a mountain range and forms a 200-meter-deep gorge. Ilhat is bordered by Carla-de-Roquefort and Lieurac in the north, Sautel in the northeast, Raissac and Péreille in the southeast, Roquefixade in the south and southwest and Roquefort-les-Cascades in the west.
