Justiniac (1793 to 1800 with the spelling Justigniac , Occitan Justinhac ) is a French commune with 55 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Ariège department in the Occitania region . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Pamiers and the Portes d'Ariège Pyrénées community association founded in 2016 . The inhabitants are called Justiniacois .

geography

The commune of Justiniac is located in the foothills of the central Pyrenees , 20 kilometers northwest of Pamiers and about 45 kilometers south of Toulouse , on the border with the Haute-Garonne department . In the municipality area of ​​4.56 km², several streams arise that drain to the north and northeast to the Ariège river. The highest point is measured in the southwest of the municipality with 361 m. Justiniac consists of scattered hamlets and individual farms. The village church is in the district of L'Oustalou , the Mairie in the centrally located hamlet of Justiniac . Other larger hamlets are Les Naudous and Malagas . Justiniac is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Marliac (Haute-Garonne Department) in the north, Brie in the east and Durfort in the south and west.
