Raissac is a French commune with 48 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Ariège department in the Occitanie region . It belongs to the Pamiers arrondissement and the Pays d'Olmes municipality .
geography
The municipality is located 19 kilometers east of Foix and about 50 kilometers north of the Pyrenees ridge in the area of the Massif du Plantaurel . The municipality is defined by a transverse valley that connects the valleys of the Douctouyre and Touyre rivers . The valley is framed by wooded mountain ranges that reach 825 m a.s.l. in the north ( Cap de la Monge ) and just under 810 m in the south (slope of Cap de Cambière ), while the village of Raissac lies at around 590 m on the valley floor. Raissac is bordered by Sautel in the north, Lavelanet in the east, Péreille in the south, Roquefixade in the southwest (point of contact) and Ilhat in the west.

Economy and Infrastructure
There is a cattle breeding farm in the community (mainly grain cultivation).
The D 1 / D 10 road from Foix to Lavelanet runs through the municipality of Raissac . In the town of Foix, 19 kilometers away, there is a connection to the motorway-like RN 20 from Toulouse to Puigcerdà . Foix station is located on the railway line from Portet-Saint-Simon to Puigcerdà ( Ligne de Portet-Saint-Simon à Puigcerda (frontière) ).
