Villeneuve-d'Olmes ( Occitan Vilanòva d'Òlmes ) is a place and a municipality with 989 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in France . It is located in the Ariège department in the Occitanie region . The municipality is part of the Pamiers arrondissement and the Pays d'Olmes canton (until 2015: Lavelanet canton ). The inhabitants are called Villeneuvois .

Villeneuve-d'Olmes is located on the Touyre at the foot of the French Pyrenees , about 50 kilometers southwest of Carcassonne . Villeneuve-d'Olmes is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Péreille in the north, Lavelanet in the northeast, Bénaix in the south and east, Montferrier in the south and southwest, and Roquefixade in the west.
