content

The series takes place in Munich in the early 1960s. The main character Alois Huber is a police officer on the radio patrol of the Munich police . Huber is a Bavarian through and through and plays the quiet, comfortable sergeant who can be upset so quickly. Only his son Schorschi can briefly enrage him, which his wife can quickly iron out. The aim of the series was to give the viewer a comprehensive picture of the life of a police officer, which did not leave out private life and conflicts among colleagues. From today's point of view, many cases seem harmless or touching, since in the end even the criminals show heart and remorse.

In the first season the Osnabrück sergeant Dieter Resch is new to Munich and has to be slowed down by the crew of Isar 12 in his zeal. Huber usually drives with Sergeant Herbert Dambrowski, who is also not a Bavarian. Dambrowski is anything but enthusiastic about the new colleague at the beginning and a certain rivalry develops. This is quickly ironed out by Huber, and thanks to his Bavarian nature, he can quickly smooth things over with a press bag and beer. In terms of content, the first season is characterized by rather harmless cases (tests of courage among children, rent disputes, misunderstandings among friends), but also show typical cases from the post-war period (air bombs, gasoline thefts in the US Army).

In the second season, Resch is driving another patrol car and Huber and Dambrowski take their seats again in Isar 12. This season the cases get more dramatic, the firearm is used a few times. The focus here is on subjects like shootings, kidnappings and arson. In the last episode of the season, a police colleague from Chicago accompanies Isar 12 to learn from the Munich police. When Huber is harassed by a former arrestee in the Hofbräuhaus , the visit from the USA quickly brings the troublemaker to reason.

In the third and final season, more socially critical topics are dealt with (child abuse, violence against police officers, bullying at school ). Dambrowski's private life is now also becoming the focus of the series. Dambrowski suffers from a head injury that he sustained during a mission. After becoming a father-to-be, his wife can persuade him to think about the dangerous duty on the patrol. Huber's wife is also increasingly worried about her husband. The Funkstreife Isar 12 series ended at the end of 1963 with the rescue of a runaway dog in the English Garden .
