Jens Diehm
Jens Ernst Karl Diehm (born June 8, 1965 in Weinheim ) is a general physician ( army ) in the German Armed Forces and deputy commander of the regional medical support command in Diez .
Military background
Training and first uses
After graduating from the Burghardt-Gymnasium in Buchen , Diehm joined the Army Aviation Unit of the German Armed Forces in 1984 with the 12th Air Defense Regiment in Hardheim as a basic military service provider . In 1986, he became a medical officer contenders in the career of the officers of the Medical Service and completed the officer training among others at the Medical Academy of the Bundeswehr in Munich . Subsequently completed Diehm 1987-1990 at the University of Giessen and 1990-1993 at the Ruprecht-Karls-University of Heidelberg , the study of medicine . From 2001 to 2003 Diehm was trained as an officer in the general staff service at the command academy of the Bundeswehr in Hamburg . In 2007 he received his doctorate with the dissertation “The Sulcus-Nervi-Ulnaris-Syndrome: Status of Diagnostics and Therapy in Austria” at the University of Lübeck as a “ Doctor of General Medicine ”.
Service as a staff officer
After completing his general staff training, Diehm was employed from 2003 to 2004 as a consultant in Section FüS II 1 (conception, planning, management and deployment of the medical service) in the management staff of the medical service in Bonn . There followed in 2004 to 2006, a integrated use as a medical staff officer concept development and experimentation at Allied Command Transformation of NATO in Norfolk , Virginia ( United States ). From 2006 to 2008 Diehm was the commander of the 31 “Berlin” hospital regiment in Berlin-Kladow . From 2008 to 2011, Diehm was again appointed as deputy head of department in the Federal Ministry of Defense , this time at the headquarters in Berlin . This was followed by a transfer to Leipzig , where Diehm was division doctor of the 13th Panzer Grenadier Division from 2011 to 2013 . This was followed by six months as a liaison officer to the medical service of the French armed forces in the Ministry of Defense in Paris . From 2014 to 2015 Diehm was head of division in the medical service command of the Bundeswehr in Koblenz . From 2015 to 2016 he was employed as department head G 3 (planning, issuing orders, operations) in the medical service support command in Weißenfels . From 2016 to 2017 Diehm was again deployed as Sub-Department Leader VII (Head of Mission Medical Service) in the Medical Service Command of the Bundeswehr. From 2017 to 2018 Diehm took part in a course at the College des hautes etudes militaire in Paris. This was followed by a year-long assignment as Head of Section FüSK III 5 in the Federal Ministry of Defense in Berlin. From 2019 to 2020 Diehm held the position of General Physician of the Army in the Army Command in Strausberg .
Service as a general
In April 2020, Diehm, as the successor to General Doctor Bernhard Groß , took over the post of Deputy Commander of the Regional Medical Support Command in Diez. In this post he was promoted to general physician in June 2020.
