Bernhard Groß (medical doctor)
Bernhard United (* thirtieth June 1965 in Saarlouis ) is a Surgeon General of the Air Force of the Armed Forces ( rank ). He has the position of general physician of the Air Force and head of the Center for Aerospace Medicine of the Air Force in Cologne .

After passing the baccalaureate in Dillingen / Saar joined United in 1984 as a medical officer candidate at the Medical Academy of the Bundeswehr in Munich in the Bundeswehr one. From 1985 he studied human medicine at the Saarland University in Homburg . In 1996 he became head of the air force first aid squadron in radar guidance department 23 in Lauda-Königshofen . In 1997 he received his doctorate in general medicine . A year later he was made a professional soldier and received the additional title of chiropractic . 1999 Great was as a personnel department head in the Department IV 3.1 in the Office of Personnel of the Bundeswehr in Cologne used before the 2000 Leadership Course Forces at the Staff College in Hamburg completed. When he was reclassified to the Federal Office for Personnel Management of the Bundeswehr , he became Head of Subdivision III 4 in 2013 (personnel management of medical officers, SanOA, officers / OA in the military music service and Offz / OA MilFD San). In 2015, Groß became Chief of Staff in the Regional Medical Support Command in Diez and took part in the International Higher Leadership seminar at the Bundeswehr Leadership Academy.
Service as a general
After completing this course, he was again employed as a ministerial director in 2016 as sub-department head III (internal management; health care) in the armed forces management department in the Federal Ministry of Defense in Berlin. In this post he followed General Doctor Ulrich Baumgärtner and was then promoted to General Doctor himself. In October 2018, as the successor to General Doctor Almut Nolte , he took up the post of Deputy Commander of the Regional Medical Support Command in Diez . He handed this over to senior physician Jens Diehm with effect from April 1, 2020 . Groß has been head of the Air Force's Aerospace Medicine Center since March 26, 2020 and is associated with the Air Force's general physician. Here he succeeded General Doctor Rafael Schick .
