Josef Eisl (politician, 1914)

Josef Eisl (born February 25, 1914 in Sankt Gilgen , † January 19, 1968 in Salzburg ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and farmer . From 1949 to 1968 he was a member of the Salzburg state parliament and from 1965 to 1968 second deputy state parliament president.

After primary school, Eisl attended the Winklhof agricultural school in Oberalm from 1929 to 1931, and in 1931 took over his parents' farm in Sankt Gilgen, the Buchberghof. From 1946 to 1953 he was politically active as the district party chairman of the ÖVP in Flachgau, after being sworn in as a member of the Salzburg state parliament on December 1, 1949, he was also the club chairman of the Salzburg People's Party from 1965 to 1968 and from October 6, 1965, he was the second deputy state parliament president . Eisl resigned from the state parliament on January 19, 1968. At the local political level, Eisl was involved between 1945 and 1946 and from 1957 to 1959 as a member of the St. Gilgen municipal council, after which he was a member of the municipal council from 1959 to 1964. He also directed the fortunes of his home community from 1946 to 1954 as Mayor of St. Gilgen. Eisl was also Vice President of the Salzburg Chamber of Agriculture from 1964 to 1968 and was awarded the professional title of Economic Council in 1967 .
