Josef Schneider (born February 5, 1906 in Nuremberg ; † January 18, 1998 in Bamberg ) was Roman Catholic Archbishop of Bamberg.

Life

Josef Schneider attended the Collegium Germanicum in Rome and studied Catholic theology and philosophy . Josef Schneider was ordained a priest on October 25, 1931 . He initially worked as a chaplain . Archbishop Jacobus Hauck enabled him in 1932 to go to doctoral studies in Rome, where he attended the Pontifical Gregorian University as a doctor of philosophy and theology doctorate was.
