Kürnberg is a place in the Mostviertel in Lower Austria as well as a locality and under the name Kirnberg a cadastral municipality of the municipality of St. Peter in der Au in the district of Amstetten .

The place is located a good 27 kilometers southwest of Amstetten , 7 km southwest of St. Peter in der Au .
The village of Kürnberg is located in the foothills of the Ybbstal Alps on the mountain of the same name, on whose summit at 711 m above sea level. A. the village church is standing. The place has around 80 addresses. The Zaucha goes northwards over the Url to the Ybbs , to the east its tributary, the Weistrachbach , rises . The Stelzergraben runs south to the Ramingbach , a side stream of the Enns , which forms the border with Upper Austria here. Directly to the northwest lies the Plattenberg ( 750 m above sea level ), already on the Weistrach municipality, with the Elisabethwarte.
The village of Kürnberg and Kirnberg cadastral community with 1,423.8 hectares comprises around 200 addresses with a good 800 inhabitants (January 1, 2020: 840). It stretches from the village westward over the Wieserhöhe , south-eastward over Schusserberg ( 799 m above sea level ), Griffner Tower ( 772 m above sea level ), Briefberg ( 837 m above sea level ) to shortly before the Bischofberg , and down into the Ramingtal , where the entire right bank is part of it for a good 8 km . The local area also includes the individual layers and parts of Kleinraming , which is also on the Upper Austrian side of the Ramingbach, which are grouped together as Kürnberg-Dispersed Houses .

History and infrastructure
Neolithic finds were found in the Reingruber quarry area .
The Raming has been a center of the Eisenwurzen small iron industry since the High Middle Ages , and is famous for its blade forging. The church of St. James the Elder was built in the 11th century and rebuilt around 1500. In 1771, when the Kirnberg parish was established, most of the church was rebuilt and rebuilt in 1858. The place itself is a church hamlet that included only a few houses until the 20th century.
With the creation of the local churches in 1848/49 , Kürnberg became an independent municipality. The tax community Hohenreith also belonged to it .
On January 1, 1971, Kürnberg became part of the St. Peter / Au community.
