The canton of Metz-1 is a French constituency in the arrondissement of Metz , in the Moselle department and in the Grand Est region (until the end of 2015 Lorraine ).

history

The canton was created when the French cantons were redistributed in 2015. Its territory includes districts of the city of Metz in the north-west of the city.

location

The canton is located in the northern half of the Moselle department.

politics

In the first ballot on March 22, 2015, none of the seven pairs of candidates achieved an absolute majority. In the runoff election on March 29, 2015, Dominique Gros / Patricia Sallusti (both PS) won against Sébastien Brodbeck / Françoise Grolet (both FN ) with a share of 63.07% of the votes (turnout: 40.59%).
