The canton of Saint-Avold is a French constituency in the Arrondissement Forbach-Boulay-Moselle , in the Moselle department and in the Grand Est region ( Lorraine until the end of 2015 ); its main town is Saint-Avold .
history
The canton was created when the French cantons were redistributed in 2015. Its 10 communes come from the former cantons of Saint-Avold-1 (all 5 communes) and Saint-Avold-2 (all communes except Hombourg-Haut ).

The canton is located in the northern half of the Moselle department on the border with Germany.

In the first ballot on March 22, 2015, none of the six candidate pairs achieved an absolute majority. In the runoff election on March 29, 2015, Patricia Boeglen (DVD) / André Wojciechowski (UDI) won against Gérard Chatelain / Nathalie Pigeot (both FN ) with 57.84% of the votes (turnout: 46.66%).
