from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Teltow-Storkow district was a district in the Prussian province of Brandenburg from 1816 to 1835 . The district seat was in the city of Teltow .

history

As part of the Prussian administrative reforms after the Congress of Vienna , the Teltow-Storkow district south of Berlin was founded with effect from April 1, 1817 . The circle comprised the old Teltowische Kreis and the old Storkower Kreis , which had emerged from the Storkow rule.

Until 1821, some places from the northern part of the district belonged to the Berlin administrative district and the rest of the district belonged to the Potsdam administrative district . After the Berlin administrative district had been dissolved on January 1, 1822, the entire district became part of the Potsdam administrative district.

In 1835 the district had about 65,000 inhabitants. On January 1, 1836, the area of the former Storkow district was separated from the Teltow-Storkow district and merged with the northern part of the Lübben district , the former Beeskow rule , to form the new Beeskow-Storkow district. The remaining district area from then on again formed the Teltow district within its old borders.
