Fiber optic network
In 2009 the city of Krk initiated a project with which a comprehensive fiber optic network is to be built as part of the local infrastructure over the entire area of the city of Krk (place Krk and 14 neighboring villages) . The fiber optic network is the long-term, secure and reliable solution for the supply of broadband Internet connections and should be implemented in every household. A feasibility study was carried out in 2009/2010. In April 2013 the pre-construction permit was granted and at the beginning of 2014 it was decided to prepare the building permit. Since 2017, the Krk agglomeration has been fully equipped with a fiber optic network for broadband internet access.
