Kröttenbach is a district of the community of Unterschwaningen in the Central Franconian district of Ansbach .
geography
The village is on the edge of the Franconian Lake District and is surrounded by arable land and grassland. In the southeast is the Lehenbuck corridor, in the west Löhle. in the north is the frame wood and in the east the long wood. The Kröttenbach flows through the village, a right tributary of the Arrabach, which joins the Lentersheimer Mühlbach near Altentrüdingen , a left tributary of the Wörnitz . A community road leads to the district road AN 61 near Unterschwaningen (1.3 km southwest) or to Cronheim to the district road WUG 25 (2 km northeast).
history
One of the oldest farming settlements in the Hesselberg region can be found south of Kröttenbach. The Stone Age tools and fragments of the oldest ribbon ceramics found there date to around 5600 BC. The district also includes the Bühlhof, a former fiefdom of the princes of Oettingen , and the two properties in the stone pit that belong to the former Cronheim castle estate. The other owners were liable to pay interest on the castle estates in Unterschwaningen and Laufenbürg.
Kröttenbach was in the Fraisch district of the Ansbach Oberamt Wassertrüdingen . The village and community rule was exercised by the Ansbach administration office in Schwaningen . By the end of the 18th century, there were 18 properties and a community shepherd's house. Were landlords
- the Schwaningen administration office (1 two-thirds courtyard, 1 third courtyard, 4 half-courtyards, 3 Söldengütlein , 1 Söldengütlein, 1 fiefdom with beer and brandy distilling rights)
- the Eichstättische Vogtamt Cronheim (1 farm, 1 Söldengut, 1 fiefdom, 1 fiefdom small)
- the lordship of Sommersdorf-Thann (2 half yards, 1 estate).
From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice and Chamber Office Wassertrüdingen .
In 1806 Kröttenbach came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . As a result of the municipal edict, it was assigned to the Obermögersheim tax district in 1809 . At the same time the rural community of Kröttenbach was formed. In administration and jurisdiction it was subordinate to the Wassertrüdingen Regional Court and the Wassertrüdingen Rent Office ( renamed Wassertrüdingen Tax Office in 1919 , Gunzenhausen Tax Office 1932–1973 , Ansbach Tax Office from 1973 ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court Wassertrüdingen until 1879, from 1879 to 1956 the district court Wassertrüdingen was responsible, from 1956 to 1970 the district court Gunzenhausen and from 1970 to 1973 the district court Dinkelsbühl , which has been a branch of the district court Ansbach since 1973 . The administration was taken over by the newly created Dinkelsbühl district office in 1862 (renamed the Dinkelsbühl district in 1938 ). With the dissolution of the district of Dinkelsbühl in 1972, Kröttenbach came to the district of Ansbach. In 1961 the municipality had an area of 2.293 km². On April 1, 1971, the Kröttenbach was incorporated into Unterschwaningen in the course of the municipal reform.
