Landivisiau ( Breton Landivizio ) is a French commune with 9132 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Finistère department in Brittany . It belongs to the community association Communauté de communes du Pays de Landivisiau . With its annual horse market, Landivisiau is known as the “capital of the Breton horse”. It is the capital of the canton of Landivisiau .
history
etymology
The name Landivisiau is derived from the Breton word lann , which is used to describe a hermitage, and the holy Thivisiau , whose family name was Gwisiau.
