In the small town you will find one of the most famous enclosed parishes in Brittany. The parish of Guimiliau is surpassed by no other in terms of richness of figures and as a whole it offers a magnificent sight due to its effective layout above the village square. The Calvaire of Guimiliau was created between 1581 and 1588 and, with its 200 figures, is considered the second largest in Brittany. The entrance hall of the Saint-Miliau church is richly decorated with figures depicting scenes from the Old and New Testaments .

For a long time there was a contest for the most important enclosed parish, especially with the neighboring communities of Lampaul-Guimiliau and Saint-Thégonnec .
