Lasker ~ DeBakey Clinical Medical Research Award

The Lasker ~ DeBakey Clinical Medical Research Award, until 2008 Albert Lasker Award for Clinical Medical Research ("Albert Lasker Prize for Clinical Medical Research") is awarded by the US American Lasker Foundation ("Lasker Foundation") for outstanding achievements awarded in the field of clinical research. Together with the Albert Lasker Award for Basic Medical Research , it is considered the highest medical and scientific award in the United States.

In 2008 it was renamed to its current name in honor of Michael Ellis DeBakey .

Twelve winners (as of 2018) later also received a Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine . Karl Landsteiner (posthumous award 1946) had already received a Nobel Prize in 1930.

In addition to the Lasker ~ DeBakey Clinical Medical Research Award, there is also the Lasker-Koshland Special Achievement Award in Medical Science (formerly the Albert Lasker Achievement Award ), with which it should not be confused.
