Attractions
- The castle ( Castillo de Leiva ) about 200 meters south of the town center is a well-preserved complex from the 15th century. One square and three octagonal towers enclose a rectangular courtyard; one of the towers ( torre de homenaje ) is significantly larger and higher than the other three.
- The three-aisled church stands in the middle of a row of houses and also dates from the 15th century. The west facade impresses with a mighty tower on a square floor plan with a high portal arch. In the center of the rather small altarpiece in front of the straight choir closure of the left aisle there is a crucifixion scene .
- The small single-aisled hermit church ( Ermita de la Virgen Peregrina ) from the 18th century stands just outside the village and is the destination of an annual procession . The small church has a south portal, but a bell gable ( espadaña ) over the otherwise unadorned west facade.
Personalities
