Description of the coat of arms : “The coat of arms of the city of Gütersloh corresponds to a German coat of arms shield with a narrow border that changes eight times in silver and black, indicating the Prussian national colors, covered with a green field over which three silver rivers flow diagonally to the right. On the middle of these streams lies a red spinning wheel with six spokes. ” (Approved by the Prussian king on January 12, 1844)
