(map)
1925–1926 (double tenement house) Plastered facade, important in terms of building history

The building application was submitted in 1925 a good month earlier than the second half of the semi-detached house at Friesenstrasse 9 and the final inspection took place two months earlier in mid-April 1926. All apartments in the three-storey front residential building in semi-open construction had a bathroom / toilet. The client was the building manager and designing architect F. Otto Gerstenberger as managing director of Allgemeine Wohnhaus-Baugesellschaft mbH Leipzig. To carry out the earthworks and masonry work, he engaged the builders R. Rost and Marx. A laundry room was set up in the basement for the tenants of the three-in-hand car. The facade is smoothly plastered, has only a cornice and a few window frames as accentuating decor, the house entrance with frame is at the rear. The new windows were probably installed in 1997. Most of the equipment from the construction period has been preserved; fortunately, the house was not yet "fully renovated" in summer 2018. LfD / 2018

1904–1905 (tenement house) with gate passage, clinker brick facade, historically important

The plans for a new front and rear building that were attached to a building application in June 1904 were provided by the architect and master builder Emil Richter. The builder was the locksmith Bruno Gaudlitz from Leipzig-Neustadt. The Connewitz bricklayer foreman Karl Nasarek was contracted for execution and construction management. Due to changes that had been applied for, the building permit was not granted until October, which means that construction dragged on well into 1905. After the foreclosure auction in August 1905, the buyer, bank director Otto Sommermeyer in Gera, had the work completed under the direction of the architect Ernst Krug. The final acceptance took place on December 20, 1906 and the letter permitting use was issued on January 3, 1906. Incidentally, the laundry room was no longer located in the front building, but was built as a small, independent courtyard building. In 1908, brickworks owner Georg Carl Eduard Häßner took over the property in Thränitz near Gera, and in 1911 the Pegau brickworks owner Ernst Wilhelm Kummer. After another foreclosure auction in 1917, the brickworks owner Walther Adolf Scheibe in Gera (on the footpath to Ronneburg) was the new owner, followed in 1919 by the bricklayer foreman Ferdinand Haring from Leipzig, who in 1921 submitted a building application for a mansion's apartment "in accordance with the local law on emergency housing". In December 1996 DM: L Immobilien- und Bauträger GmbH from Trebur for modernization, renovation, loft extensions and balconies. The yellow clinker brick facade above the plastered ground floor with molded artificial stone parts and Wilhelminian style stucco decor, with the first floor being particularly emphasized. Parts of the original furnishings have been preserved, the rear building is not a monument. LfD / 2008

1914–1915 (tenement) Plastered facade, stucco in the entrance area, stairwell windows with leaded glazing, reform style architecture, of importance in terms of building history

A good six weeks later than the neighboring house at Friesenstrasse 11, the master carpenter and construction business owner Gustav Albrecht Heinichen built the three-storey apartment building on his own behalf. It was based on drawings by the Lindenau architect Karl Voigt. Building permit granted on June 13, 1914, final acceptance on January 29, 1915. A header from 1938 shows Rietschelstrasse 27 as the company address of the Albrecht Heinichen & Sons construction business, 1939 approval for three garages on the property (master builder Rudolf Heinichen). Two large, two-axis oriels extending over both upper floors and combined in the roof zone create an almost monumental effect of the reform-style plastered facade with only a few plaster and artificial stone elements, a two-axis oriel facing Friesenstrasse. The front door portal with inserted half-columns, the roof house formerly with wooden folding shutters pointing to the Heimat style. Originally a uniform enclosure with the neighboring properties. 1993 Building application for renovation and modernization by investor Hans Ferian Immobilien Leipzig and Weidleplan Consulting GmbH Leipzig (planning). A portal sculpture above the entrance: two children lying down frame a cartouche. Inside, a generous entrance hall surprises with furnishings typical of the time, including two large-format wall tiles with depictions of ships that cannot be found anywhere else in Leipzig. 1927–1929 (double tenement house) Plastered facade, balconies, clinker brick structure of the entrances, lead-glazed staircase windows with stained glass, typical architecture of the 1920s, of architectural importance

Architect and master builder Erich Heisen drew the first plans for Leipzig's Westendbaugesellschaft in October 1927, and Rudolf Heinichen presented new plans a good six weeks later. He also acted as the client, took over the construction management and the static calculations, for which the civil engineer Karl Reinhardt was also called in. The project was carried out between May and November 1929, presumably through Albrecht Heinichen's construction business. On each floor there were two apartments in each half of the house to be furnished with an exit and an internal bathroom / toilet, the top floor was to receive one residential unit each. The application for the garages and the fencing dates from the summer of 1929, and renovation and modernization work was carried out between 1996 and 1998 based on plans by the architects and engineers Wirz, Kunkel & Partner. The double tenement house is free, has a plastered facade and a distinctive facing with iron clinker brick in the base and partly in the ground floor area. The frames of the two double-leaf house entrance doors and the street-side loggias balconies appear emphasized. The architecturally related semi-detached house Rietschelstraße 29/31 shows a clearer influence of Art Deco on the facade architecture. Together with the neighboring residential building 29/31, the house has an architectural historical value as an architecturally remarkable testimony to the building culture of the 1920s in Lindenau. 1936–1938 (tenement) Plastered facade, residential building in the local style, of architectural significance

The architects Bock & Paatzsch from Leipzig designed the group of houses for the building initiator Valentin Franke from Dornburg / Saale at the end of 1936, submitted Tekturen in March of the following year and managed the company until it was completed at the beginning of 1938. Franz Mosenthin and the roof were responsible for static calculations the builder Paul Grafe, the execution work was in the hands of builder Arthur Seifert. In the meantime, the property was under municipal administration, the disposal from the portfolio of Leipziger Wohnungs- und Baugesellschaft mbH listed as of May 31, 1996. Three residential buildings were built with a total of 21 small apartments with internal bathroom / toilet, each designed as a couple. A similar group of houses is in Leipzig-Connewitz, at the corner of Eckstein and Zwenkauer Strasse. Simple plastered facades characterize the appearance, the clinker base was not intended to be plastered. The tiled roof show an effective conclusion to the three-storey buildings. The elegant central axis, which, including the house entrance and stairwell, is weakly designed as a risalit, appears emphasized. At least parts of the simple, time-typical furnishings have been preserved, including the house entrance doors. LfD / 2014, 2015

1909–1911 (double tenement house) Plastered facade, corner bay window, reform style architecture, of importance in terms of building history

Construction of the free-standing, generously-sized semi-detached house in a corner location by master bricklayer Otto Unger on his own commission based on a design by Lindenau architect Karl Voigt. Building application from September 25, 1909, subsequent submission of tectures in December and execution by March 1911. Long dispute over a second attic apartment, which could be occupied in July 1914. From 1919 owned by master builder Bruno Castner, later temporarily managed by VEB GWL. The axially symmetrical, plastered facade with a large dwelling, bay window on the broken corner and a restrained design with plaster structure and a few artificial stone moldings. Courtyard side with the house entrances and spacious wooden balconies. Two apartments with bath / toilet in each staircase on each floor, previously planned to accommodate the two laundry rooms in the attic. The furnishings have largely been preserved, the original enclosure submitted for approval in 1910 is no longer preserved. Refurbishment between 1997 and 2000. LfD / 2009

1900–1901 (tenement house), 1900–1901 (rear building), 1925 (outbuilding) Front building with gate passage, plastered façade, original front gates, tenement building typical of the district in the transition from the Wilhelminian era to Art Nouveau, in the courtyard tobacco shop, importance for the development of the district, historical building value

A first building project in 1897 by Robert Geissler from Leipzig-Schönefeld was not implemented; plans by and by the architect Josef Müller on behalf of the foreman Wilhelm Scheerbaum were carried out. The project applied for in September 1900 was completed in March of the following year and the two-storey rear building was completed two months later. In 1906, Schlehahn & Co's tobacco shop is mentioned, whose owners have also owned the property since 1920. In 1948–1949 the outbuilding, which had been destroyed in the war, was rebuilt and increased. In 2007 simple renovation of the apartment building. The front building, which has only three storeys, has a passage, a side elevation that is impaired in its architectural effect, a plastered facade and a very annoying roof house. Noteworthy are the unusual window frames on the two upper floors, which apparently neither can be attributed to the end of the Wilhelminian era nor to the modern Art Nouveau style. According to the plans, two apartments per floor and the toilets on half the stairs. Architectural and district historical value. LfD / 2010, 2011

The tenement house, which was partially open until 2012, was built between June 1899 and August of the following year by the Leutzsch-based contractors Schilling and Hädrich, with a laundry room in the courtyard. A little later, a workshop building was to be built on the property, a courtyard roofing in 1912, a new shed building in 1913 and a building with an office, glass chamber and car garage in 1926 by the property owner, master glazier Franz Albert Köppe. In the years 1996/1997, the attic was converted for residential purposes, accompanied by renovation work. A grooved ground floor is stretched between a bright clinker base and upper floors clad with red blinds. In addition, the facade shows rich historic stucco in the fields above the windows of the two middle floors and a distinctive eaves zone with consoles as well as a kymation and tooth cut strip. The rear entrance to the house and the courtyard are accessed via a passage. Two apartments of different sizes were set up on each floor: a kitchen, living room and one in the central corridor, and two chambers in the second apartment. House number 5 is the end of the Wilhelminian-style, historic building structure in the street. In 2011/2012 a row of townhouses (numbers 7-17, Anhöck & Kellner Massivhaus GmbH) was added to the gable with almost no consideration for the existing development, which exudes the charm of an industrial administration building on the street side. The Historischmusbau Rosenmüllerstraße 5 has a largely preserved interior and a very splendid façade, which is of great architectural value. LfD / 2019

1891–1895 (tenement house) Apartment building formerly with a shop, historicistic plastered facade with stucco and artificial stone integration, of architectural significance

The residential building, which was built in 1893–1895, stands at a joint that is still impressively visible today between the closed row development of apartment buildings and a remnant of the previous structures of peasant farms. A building project by Ferdinand Schmidt and master builder Karl Richard Petzold in 1891 was not carried out. Now the married Johanna Susanne Keil are in the files as entrepreneur and architect Otto Lehmann. Also involved was carpenter Friedrich Gustav Keil, laminated wood signed for the execution. In 1910 the passage was converted into living space and a new entrance to the house was installed (Hugo Lange and architect R. Rammner), and in 1929 a painting studio was installed under the roof. Renovation, attic expansion and a change in the apartment floor plans date back to 1996/1997. The ASB Altbau SanierungsBauträger GmbH signed the contract with the architect Otto von Kotzebue from Rosenheim. Two double-axis side elevations frame the sophisticated historicism facade, the plastered surfaces of which are structured by stucco decor, artificial stone window frames and artificial stone cornices. The building has an additional effect due to the twin house character with number 20 and the location in the immediate vicinity of Lindenau's Nathanael Church. Architectural, urban and urban development value. LfD / 2013, 2014

1899–1900 (tenement house), 1929, roller building (outbuilding) Clinker brick facade, former roller building in the courtyard, document of the development history of the district, of interest in terms of urban planning

Wielandstraße 2, Lindenau, 09302771, topography text: The building application was submitted on June 14, 1899, and the application for final acceptance at the beginning of March 1900. Reinhold Heinicke, a building contractor from Schönefeld, had the house built in a semi-open construction along with a washhouse building, and the enclosure at the same time. In 1903 the innkeeper Ferdinand Karl Franz Krüger took over the property, in 1904 the publisher Dr. Josef Matth. Petersmann, later master tobacco dyer and laundry owner Adolf Lippold, who died in an unfortunate accident in the laundry roll building in 1930. In 1969 the building permit for the oversized loft extension was granted, with the accompanying simplification of the eaves and new plastering on the ground floor (this roof house was dismantled again as part of the later renovation). Facing clinker masonry show the base and the two upper floors, structured by artificial concrete blocks, the house entrance is on the side of the gable front. Of interest is the effect of the house and property in the area directly on Georg-Schwarz-Straße and opposite a public green area. A historical advertising inscription and parts of the equipment have been preserved even after the renovation between 2014 and 2018 and extensive roof extension, the washing station building is now being used. The late historicism building has an architectural historical value. LfD / 2017, 2018

1890-1891 (tenement house) with gate passage and shop, clinker brick facade, original shop, as a historic tenement building of architectural significance

A first construction project for a front and rear residential building in 1886 was not implemented. New plans from a new property owner, master butcher Karl Oswald Abitzsch, were applied for in 1890 and implemented by March 1891. The rear building, which was only designed with two floors, accommodated workshop rooms, horse stables and the office, but was rebuilt several times. In the tenement house, two differently sized apartments per floor could be moved into, while on the ground floor there was only one apartment with an integrated shop next to the drive-through. Stucco and artificial stone decorations from the drawer of historicism contribute to the structure of the façade, which is clad in clinker over the plastered ground floor: acanthus leaves, laurel wreaths, masks of bearded men and scales on consoles. In addition to the shop front, which was still historic in 1993, the furnishings of the house have been preserved to this day. The floor plan of the house in the form of a parallelogram appears curious, which in some cases led to unusual room layouts. The front of the courtyard has been completely changed. The residential and commercial property testifies to the development of Lindenau, the historic tenement house has a building historical value. LfD / 2016

The builder [Emil] Moritz Eulitz acted as the client, the designing architect and the executor for the three-storey apartment building in open development. The plastered building on a clinker base was built after the building permit was granted on March 23, 1905, in a short construction period until the end of September. In January of the following year, the house came under forced administration. The files for 1926 and 1965–1966 record extensions in the attic. The symmetrical Art Nouveau facade is structured by two accented standing bay windows with half-timbered dwelling houses as well as by sloping corners that were formerly provided with tower attachments. Inside, among other things, the stairwell with stencil painting and apartment entrance doors with overhangs have been preserved. Renovation 2005–2006. LfD / 2006
