This is a list of cities in East Timor .
Overview
By far the largest agglomeration in East Timor is Dili . 234,331 inhabitants live in the municipality (as of 2010). This means that 22% of the country's people live in the capital region. The capital Dili has a population of 193,563. This corresponds to 18% of the country's population.
In the past, places with more than 1,000 inhabitants were listed as cities, such as Dare in the municipality of Dili or Bobonaro in the municipality of the same name . Meanwhile, 38 are Sucos defined as urban, almost all of which are grouped around the main towns of the municipalities. The only exception is Maubisse in the north of the municipality of Ainaro .
