List of streets, squares and bridges in Hamburg-Steinwerder
The list of streets and bridges in Hamburg-Steinwerder is an overview of the streets and bridges currently in the Hamburg district of Steinwerder . It is part of the list of traffic areas in Hamburg .
overview
In Steinwerder (district number 139) there are 33 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) on 7.4 km². The district ranks fourth from bottom both in terms of population and population density. Steinwerder is in the postcode area 20457.
There are 73 designated traffic areas in Steinwerder, including a square, 14 bridges, 17 quays, ten courtyards (including Toller Ort ) and a tunnel. In the German basic map 1: 5,000 the name Howaldtbrücke can also be found in the course of the Roßweg over the Roßkanal , which is missing in the street and area directory of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg and therefore does not appear in the list. Lighter Canal Bridge and Vulkankai , on the other hand, are objects that can no longer be found on site, but are still listed.
The street names often refer to islands Elbarme, farms or natural Bewachsung that were later built over or altered in the expansion of the port: Ellerholzbrücke , Ellerholzdamm , Ellerholzhöft , Ellerholzschleusenbrücke , Ellerholzweg , Grevenhofbrücke , Grevenhofkai , Grevenhofkanalbrücke , Köhlbrandbrücke , Köhlbranddeich , Köhlbrandhöft , Kuhwerder Höft , Neuhöfer Kai , Norderelbstraße , Nordersand , Reiherdamm , Reiherkai , Reiherstiegbrücke , Reiherstraße , Rohrweg , Roßbrücke , Roßdamm , Roßhöft , Roßkai , Roßweg , Schilfstraße , Steinwerder Kai , Stillhorner Damm and Vogelreth .
A smaller group of topics around the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Hafen relates to the last German Kaiser and his family: Auguste-Victoria-Kai , Kaiser-Wilhelm-Höft and Kronprinzkai .
In addition, some traffic facilities are named after shipyards and their founders or after Hamburg mayors, senators and hydraulic engineering directors. Unlike in many other parts of the city, however, there are no geographically delimitable areas in which they only occur so that they cannot be designated as subject groups.
Overview of the streets
The following table gives an overview of all named traffic areas - streets, bridges and also quays as well as a tunnel - in the district as well as some related information. In detail these are:
- Name / location : current name of the street or bridge. The road or bridge can be displayed on various map services via the link ( location ). The geoposition indicates approximately the middle. In the case of longer streets that lead through two or more parts of the city, it is therefore possible that the coordinate is in a different part of the city.
- Street code: official street code, consisting of a letter (first letter of the street or bridge) and a three-digit number.
-
Length / dimensions in meters:
Note: The length information contained in the overview are overview values rounded up or down according to mathematical rules , which were determined in the Digital Atlas North with the local scale. They are more for comparison purposes and, if official values are known, are exchanged and marked separately.
The addition ( in the district ) indicates how long the street is within the district if it runs through several districts. - Name origin : origin or reference of the name.
- Date of designation : Year of the official designation or the first mention of a name, in case of uncertainty also the specification of a period.
- Notes : Further information on adjacent institutions, the history of the road or bridge, historical names, architectural monuments, etc.
- Image : Photo of the street or an adjacent object.
