The following list of the administrative regions of the People's Republic of China according to economic output sorts the provinces , autonomous regions and the 4 cities at the provincial level of the People's Republic of China according to their economic output ( gross domestic product ). Data for Hong Kong , Macau and Taiwan are not included here.
With a gross domestic product (GDP) of 12,250 billion US dollars, the People's Republic of China was the second largest economic power worldwide in 2017 . However, there are considerable differences in prosperity within China.
