As a result of the Second World War , parts of the building were destroyed, and large parts could be restored in 1948-58. Further renovations took place in the years 1990–93.

Of the entire hospital complex, only the associated late Gothic Holy Spirit Chapel (the inauguration took place on July 24th, 1421), a single-nave brick building with simple buttresses of two groin-vaulted yokes and a simple star vault in the choir room has been preserved. After the Kempen Hospital was moved to Annenhof (1801), the chapel was used in different ways (hotel, officers' mess for the Belgian occupation , studio of the Kempen artist Fritz Wingen , NS office, library, etc.). In 1987 the provost parish of St. Mariae Birth bought the building from the city of Kempen, and it was used as a bookshop, among other things. The chapel has been closed since 2012.

In contrast to the other districts, this is not a district that has grown over centuries, but was planned on the drawing board. At the end of the 1960s, many new residents also settled here. On December 15, 1968, the new church (a prefabricated building made of wooden components as a temporary facility) with the name "Christ König" was consecrated here, but since many structural defects appeared over the years, the building was demolished in 1991. In 1992 and 1993, today's church of the same name was built on Concordienplatz according to the plans of Hans and Stefan Haas ( Aachen ). The interior design took Klaus Balke (painting) and Titus Reinarz (sculpture), the church was on March 28, 1993 consecrated to be.

	Judaism	Kempen synagogue	Umstraße / corner Donkwall, 47906 Kempen		1848 to 1849	The first Jews are recorded in Kempen in the 13th century, but this small community was destroyed by a pogrom in 1288. In the first half of the 14th century, Jewish families settled again, but they were finally expelled in 1385. Only around 1800 was there evidence of a Jewish community again, around 1808 a prayer room was set up on Judenstrasse and Schulstrasse. Between 1848 and 1849 a brick-built synagogue was built in the Umstraße / corner of Donkwall. In 1933 there were the first anti-Jewish riots, and many Jewish families emigrated in the following years. On November 10, 1938 , the synagogue was devastated by local SA members and set on fire, it burned down completely. Subsequently, Jewish property in the city was demolished. The history of the Jews in Kempen ended with the deportation of the last Jews in 1941 and 1942, there was only one survivor: Kurt Mendel . In 1982 a memorial was inaugurated near the old synagogue site.

	Evangelical regional church community	Gustav-Adolf-Kirche (Swedish Church)	Evangelische Kirchstrasse 31, 47906 Kempen		1959	After many Protestant refugees had settled in St. Hubert after the Second World War , it became necessary to build a Protestant church here too. However, since there was no money for this, the pastor Friedrich Fliedner set out for Sweden to beg for some wood for the flooring or the roof structure. There it was decided to donate a complete church to the community. With the help of a Catholic freight company from the Emsland (who took over the transport for free) the wood was transported to the port of Uerdingen . With the active help of the parishioners, the small wooden church (based on the model of the “ Amsberg Chapel ” in Stora Tuna / Sweden) was built. The inauguration took place on August 9, 1959. A bell tower was built in 1962, and various renovations were carried out in the following years. The church has windows by the glass artist Joachim Klos from 1996 and 1997, manufactured by the glass workshop Glaswerkstatt Hein Derix in Kevelaer . In 2006 a new organ (made by Schreier, Thierhaupten) was inaugurated.

Parish Tönisberg	Feldweg 8, 47906 Kempen		1968/1975	The Protestant Christians in Tönisberg were cared for by the neighboring parish of Vluyn until an independent congregation was founded ; the services were held in an old school in Tönisberg. In 1967 the two daughter parishes of St. Hubert ( belonging to Kempen ) and Tönisberg ( belonging to Vluyn ) were officially connected to the new parish of St. Hubert / Tönisberg. On May 1, 1968 the first pastor began his service, the associated church (a simple wooden church) in Tönisberg was handed over to its intended use on December 8, 1968. A parsonage was built adjacent and the topping-out ceremony was held on September 11, 1970. After almost seven years of use of the wooden church, a new community center was built (according to plans by the architect Hans Otto von Schaper), it was inaugurated on April 27, 1975, the wooden church was dismantled and moved to Strümp .
