Lopašov (Hungarian Felsőlopassó - until 1907 Lopassó ) is a municipality in the west of Slovakia with 333 inhabitants (December 31, 2019) that the skalica district of, a circle kraj Trnavský heard and, in the traditional landscape Záhorie lies.
geography
The community is located in the northern part of the hill country Chvojnická pahorkatina in the Valley of Chvojnica . The center of the village is at an altitude of 265 m nm and is 10 kilometers from Senica and 14 kilometers from Holíč and Skalica .
Neighboring municipalities are Chropov in the north, Častkov in the east and southeast, Oreské in the southwest and Radošovce in the west.
history
Lopašov was first mentioned in writing in 1392 as Lapassow , at that time as part of the Holitsch estate, in 1552 the village became part of the Branč castle estate . The first known seal dates back to 1769. In 1828 there were 31 houses and 227 inhabitants who were employed in agriculture and viticulture.
Until 1918, the place in Neutra County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, Lopašov had 319 residents, including 313 Slovaks and 1 Czech. 5 residents did not provide any information on ethnicity. 304 residents supported the Roman Catholic Church, 3 residents to the Evangelical Methodist Church and 1 resident to the Old Catholic Church. 5 residents had no denomination and the denomination of 6 residents was not determined.
