Dubovce is a municipality in the west of Slovakia with 622 inhabitants (December 31, 2019) that the skalica district of, a circle kraj Trnavský heard and in the traditional landscape Záhorie lies.
geography
The municipality is located on the northern edge of the Chvojnická pahorkatina hills in the valley of the Chvojnica river . The center of the village lies at an altitude of 211 m nm and is four and a half kilometers from Skalica .
Neighboring municipalities are Radošovce in the north and east, Radimov in the south and Popudinské Močidľany in the west.
history
The present municipality of Dubovce was established in 1954 by the merger of the places Vidovany (Hungarian Vidovány - until 1907 Vidován ) and Vlčkovany (Hungarian Farkashely - until 1907 Vlcskován ) and was named after the oak forest south of the two suburbs .
The two places were first mentioned in writing in 1392 as Wydowan and Wolchkfalwa, respectively .

According to the 2011 census, 654 people lived in Dubovce, including 611 Slovaks, three Roma, two Czechs and one Magyar and one Pole each. 36 residents gave no information in this regard. 546 residents committed themselves to the Roman Catholic Church, three residents to the Evangelical Church AB and one resident each to the Evangelical Methodist Church and one to the Greek Catholic Church. 57 residents had no denomination and the denomination of 46 residents was not determined.
