Radimov (Hungarian Radimó ) is a municipality in the west of Slovakia with 555 inhabitants (December 31, 2019) that the skalica district of, a circle kraj Trnavský heard and, in the traditional landscape Záhorie lies.
geography
The village is located in the western part of the Chvojnická pahorkatina hills in the valley of the Radimovský creek . The municipality is slightly hilly and covered with brown soil. In the east there is a forest with oak , spruce and hornbeam . The center of the village lies at an altitude of 254 m nm and is eight kilometers from Holíč and 15 kilometers from Skalica .
Neighboring municipalities are Popudinské Močidľany in the north, Dubovce in the northeast, Radošovce in the east, Unín in the south, Petrova Ves in the west and Holíč in the northwest.
history
Radimov was first mentioned in writing in 1392 as Radymow , when Sigismund von Luxemburg donated the estate of Holitsch to Stibor of Stiborice . The history of the place up to 1918 is connected to this estate. Accordingly, the Silk dynasty became landowners in 1437, replaced by Pongrácz in 1444 . In 1506 the Czobor family received the property; the last owners (from 1736) were the Habsburgs . In 1677 Radimov received his own seal and coat of arms. The main sources of income for the population were agriculture, hemp cultivation, as well as linen weaving and sheep farming. In 1828 there were 69 houses and 483 inhabitants. In 1898 a major fire devastated the entire village except for the outskirts.
Until 1918, the place in Neutra County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, 580 inhabitants lived in Radimov, 553 of them Slovaks and 6 Czechs. 21 residents gave no information on ethnicity. 479 residents committed themselves to the Roman Catholic Church, 12 residents to the Evangelical Church AB and one resident each to the Evangelical Methodist Church and one to the Greek Catholic Church. 51 residents had no denomination and 6 residents had no denomination.
