The original place was first mentioned in writing in 1297 as Rasolyz . However, this fell in the 15th century after a devastating Hussite attack. The new village appears as the town of Rassich in a document from 1473. Market rights were granted in 1554. In the late Middle Ages and modern times, the place belonged largely to the manorial castle of the castle, later to the Holíč Castle, except in the years 1730–1776 (pledging to the Jesuits of Skalica).
