Lukas Flüeler (born October 22, 1988 ) is a Swiss ice hockey goalkeeper . Since 2008 he plays with the ZSC Lions in the Swiss National League A .

Career

Flüeler spent his junior years at EHC Kloten . His first professional station was the 1st division EHC Winterthur . He then played for one season in the Canadian Junior League Ontario Hockey League for the Ottawa 67's. He returned to Switzerland for the 2007/08 season and joined the ZSC Lions farm team , the GCK Lions, where he was able to record 20 missions. In the 2008-09 season he made his for Flüeler debut in the National League A . In the same year he made the breakthrough, he alternated in the goal of the ZSC Lions with Ari Sulander . In the 2010/11 season, Flüeler prevailed as a regular goalkeeper at the ZSC Lions and won the Swiss championship with the Zurich team in the 2011/12 season. Flüeler set a new start record at the beginning of the 2013/14 season , he remained unbeaten for 158 minutes and 57 seconds until he was defeated for the first time in the third game against SC Bern . He replaced Ronnie Rüeger .

International

In the senior national team of Switzerland , Flüeler made his first appearance in a 1-0 win after extra time against Slovakia . He immediately succeeded in a shutout . Before that, he made four appearances in the U20 national team.
