Patrick Geering (born February 12, 1990 in Zurich ) is a Swiss ice hockey player who has been under contract with the ZSC Lions in the National League A since 2008 .
Career
Patrick Geering began his career as a hockey player in the youth of the ZSC Lions . In the 2006/07 season he made his debut for the first team of GCK Lions in the National League B . In the following season, the defender was simultaneously on the ice for the GCK Lions and the Swiss U20 ice hockey team in National League B. In 2008 he returned to the ZSC Lions, for which he was in the National League A in 47 games five assists in the 2008/09 season . With the ZSC Lions, the left-handed shooter won the newly founded Champions Hockey League after he and his team prevailed in the final against HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk from the Continental Hockey League . He has been the captain of the ZSC Lions since the 2017/18 season.
International
Geering took part in the U18 Junior World Championships in 2007 and 2008 for Switzerland. He was also part of the Swiss squad at the U20 Junior World Championships in Division I in 2009 and the U20 Junior World Championships in the top division in 2008 and 2010 .
With the Swiss men's selection , he played in the top division at the 2010 , 2015 and 2015 World Championships .
