Marc M. Mouton

Marc M. Mouton ( June 1, 1901 - August 1, 1944 ) was an American politician . Between 1940 and 1944 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Louisiana .

Career

Neither the date of birth nor the place of birth of Marc Mouton are known. He studied medicine at Tulane University in New Orleans . Whether he actually practiced as a doctor is as little known as a possible relationship with the Mouton family, which is influential in Louisiana. Politically, he joined the Democratic Party .

In 1940 Mouton was elected lieutenant governor of Louisiana alongside Sam H. Jones . He held this office between 1940 and 1944. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate . He died on August 1, 1944, the same year he left this post.
