Paul M. Lambremont

Paul M. Lambremont (born July 21, 1864 in Bayou Goula , Iberville Parish , Louisiana , †  May 23, 1930 in New Orleans , Louisiana) was an American politician . Between 1908 and 1911 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Louisiana.

Career

Paul Lambremont attended public schools in his home country and graduated from Jefferson College . After a subsequent law degree at Tulane University and his admission as a lawyer in 1886, he began to work in St. James in this profession. He also worked in the banking industry. At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Democratic Party . He became a board member of the mental hospital in Jackson and was from 1888 to 1892 school council at St. James Parish . In 1890 he became secretary of the levee commission in the Pontchartrain Levee District . He stayed there until 1908. In 1898 he took part as a delegate to a constitutional convention of his state. He was also a member of the state board of the Democrats for Louisiana. From 1900 to 1908 he was a member of the Louisiana Senate . From 1904 he was President Pro Tempore there .

In 1908 Lambremont was elected lieutenant governor of Louisiana alongside Jared Y. Sanders . He held this office between 1908 and 1911. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate. After his time as Lieutenant Governor, he was no longer politically active. He died in New Orleans on May 23, 1930.
