Robert H. Snyder

Robert H. Snyder ( July 13, 1855November 17, 1905 ) was an American politician . Between 1896 and 1900 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Louisiana .

Career

The sources on Robert Snyder are very poor. It is certain that he lived at least for a time in St. Joseph in Tensas Parish and became a member of the Democratic Party . He published the Tensas Gazette from 1886 to 1895 . Between 1890 and 1896 and again from 1904 until his death he was a member of the House of Representatives from Louisiana . From 1904 he was also speaker of this chamber. In 1895 he was elected lieutenant governor of Louisiana alongside Murphy J. Foster . He held this office between 1896 and 1900. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate . In 1900 he was not re-elected. He died on 17 November 1905 and was in Natchez in the state of Mississippi buried.
