WW Farmer

William Wood "WW" Farmer (born April 27, 1813 in Ouachita Parish , Louisiana , †  October 23, 1854 in New Orleans , Louisiana) was an American politician . In 1853 and 1854 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Louisiana.

Career

WW Farmer was born in Quachita Parish. This part of the district later became part of the Union Parish . He received a good education and at times worked as a justice of the peace in his home country. Later he worked at least temporarily as a land surveyor . He also ran a plantation in Union Parish . Politically, he joined the Democratic Party . He was elected several times to the Louisiana House of Representatives. Later he was also a member of the State Senate.

In 1852, Farmer was elected lieutenant governor of Louisiana alongside Paul Octave Hébert . He held this office between 1853 and his death on October 23, 1854. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate . Farmer died of yellow fever .
