Delos R. Johnson

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Delos Roselus Johnson (born April 19, 1879 in Franklinton , Washington Parish , Louisiana , † December 1, 1955 in Washington , Louisiana) was an American politician . In 1924 he was briefly acting lieutenant governor of the state of Louisiana.

There are virtually no usable sources on Delos Johnson. What is certain is that he lived at least temporarily in Livingston Parish and was a member of the Democratic Party . Between 1916 and 1920 he represented his district in the Louisiana Senate , of which he was President Pro Tempore in 1924. After the resignation of Vice Governor Hewitt Bouanchaud on April 12, 1924, he temporarily took over his office until the end of the current legislative period. He was then followed by the newly elected Lieutenant Governor Oramel H. Simpson . After the end of his time as Lieutenant Governor, the trail of Delos Johnson is lost again.
