Margarete Salbach

Margarete Salbach (* 1926 ; † 2005 ) was a German actress and radio play speaker .

Life

Margarete Salbach completed her artistic training at the drama school of the German Theater in Berlin , which she finished in 1948. There, at the Deutsches Theater , she also made her debut. Further stations in her stage career were Halberstadt and the Erfurt Municipal Theaters , where Salbach was engaged from 1953 to 1960. In 1960 she moved to the Federal Republic of Germany and was able to continue her career.

Margarete Salbach had already appeared in front of the camera for the first time in 1948 in the film Affaire Blum . According to the DEFA Sternstunden forum, she was also involved in other DEFA productions, including the film Dr. Semmelweis - savior of mothers . At least in the IMDb database, no further cinematic activities in the 1950s are recorded. Salbach also worked repeatedly for film and television in the Federal Republic of Germany. In particular in the 1990s she became known to a wider audience when she played the film mother of Andreas Hoppe alias Mario Kopper in some episodes of the Tatort series .

Margarete Salbach's work for radio was extremely extensive. After she had spoken the title role in Anna Seghers ' radio play The Trial of Jeanne d'Arc in 1950 , she took part in over 200 productions of the Südwestfunk and later Südwestrundfunk between 1965 and 2005 .
