Mauro Jörg (born April 29, 1990 in Domat / Ems ) is a Swiss ice hockey player who has been under contract with HC Lugano in the Swiss National League again since July 2018 .
Career
Mauro Jörg began his career with the youngsters at EHC Chur and was loaned to EHC Arosa during the 2006/07 season. There he made his first experiences in a men's team before he returned to Chur at the end of the season. During the 2007/08 season he made his debut in the first team of his home club in the National League B and collected 20 scorer points in 40 games. At the end of the season he moved from EHC Chur to HC Lugano , for whom he made his debut in the relegation games of the National League A.
In the following season Mauro Jörg played parallel for the elite A-Juniors and the professional team of HC Lugano, and he also played in the Swiss U20 national ice hockey team and HC Ceresio . In the 2009/10 season he was a permanent member of the NLA squad of HC Lugano, before being loaned to EHC Visp from the NLB after the club left the playoffs .
During the 2010 NHL Entry Draft , he was selected in the seventh round in 204th place by the New Jersey Devils . In March 2012, the left shooter moved within the National League A to the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers and signed a contract until the end of the 2013/14 season. For the Lakers, he completed over 100 NLA games in the following two game years, but did not make the breakthrough as a top performer. Therefore, he decided to move to HC Davos in 2014 . With the Graubünden 2015 Swiss champions .
In June 2018 his contract with HCD was terminated and Jörg returned to HC Lugano.
International
With the federal offspring, for whom he had already played in the U17, Jörg took part in the U18 World Cup in 2008 in the top division, in the U20 World Cup in 2009 in Division 1 and - after the promotion there - in the U20 2010 World Cup again in the top division.
He made his first appearances in the Swiss men's selection in the 2014/15 season. But it has not yet been used in major tournaments.
